If you’ve ever carved a pumpkin into a jack-o’-lantern, you know that it can be a little tricky. Sure, there are the Martha Stewarts of the world who laser-cut their squash to perfection. But most of us stab and hack with a knife until the job is done. If only these frighteningly good jack-o’-lantern stencils were available in real pumpkin sizes! As you can see, the grinning faces are on a rainbow shimmer background. This particular cat eye gel is adaptable to any color as it’s iridescent and transparent. The artist started with a black base, added the Universal Cat Eye polish, then adjusted the shiny bits with a magnet. Before using the stencil, they applied a matte top gel which made the nails look like etched glass.
Next, the artist took a small sponge and selected the darkest shade from the Pat Pat Gel palette. Using the stencils as guides for the jack-o'-lantern faces, they dabbed the color onto the nail. Finally, after curing that layer, they finished with Diamond Top Gel to restore the high-gloss shine.

DIY Halloween Nails

First, apply the base coat and color. Make sure it’s dry or cured before continuing.
Now, use tweezers to peel a sticker square from the sheet and press it on a painted nail. Then with a brush or sponge, apply the skull color. Remove the sticker with tweezers before curing the gel polish, or before the nail lacquer air-dries. Remember, these are stencils that you can use more than once.
Why should you remove the stencil before the polish dries? Otherwise, the excess might adhere to the sticker and the design would be damaged when you peel it off.
