CND at DTK: what this page holds
CND (Creative Nail Design) is a professional nail brand, sold for salon work rather than as a drugstore line. Its signature is Shellac, a soak-off hybrid of gel and nail lacquer that removes without drilling, which is why many clients who are nervous about filing ask for it by name. CND products are built to work as one system, so salons that choose the brand tend to stock it end to end: colour, base, top, builder, acrylic and aftercare.
This page gathers the CND listings DTK carries: the Shellac colour bottles, the Brisa jar sculpting gel and the Plexigel brush-in-bottle builders, Perfect Color acrylic powders, and care products such as Solar Oil and Cuticle Away. The Shellac base and top coats and the Retention sculpting liquid live on their own listings, linked below, because they are shared across the whole system. Use the filters beside the grid to narrow by product type, colour or availability.
CND Shellac colour
Shellac colours come in 0.25 oz (7.3 mL) bottles with a built-in brush, and each listing carries the CND shade number and name, so a client's favourite is easy to reorder. The range here runs from soft sheers to deep reds and darks. Shades in stock as we write this include Cream Puff, Romantique, Candied, Clearly Pink, Bordeaux Babe, Dark Diamond, Black Pool, Aura and Soft Flame; stock moves daily, so check the listing before you plan a menu around one bottle.
Shellac is a soak-off system: the finished manicure comes off in acetone without a drill, which suits clients who do not want their natural nail filed down at every visit. Two thin colour coats over the base give even coverage on most shades.
Shellac base and top coats
A Shellac manicure is only as good as the layers under and over the colour. On the Shellac base, top and Duraforce coats page you will find the Base Coat in 0.25 oz and 0.42 oz bottles, the Base Top Coat 0.25 oz, the original Top Coat 0.25 oz and the Duraforce Top Coat 0.25 oz. For busy stations there are multipacks of 6 or 12 bottles of base or top in the same sizes.
- Base Coat: one thin layer, capped at the free edge, bonds the colour to the prepared nail.
- Original Top Coat: seals the colour; CND's directions call for wiping the surface after curing for the full shine.
- Duraforce Top Coat: CND's second top coat option, in a 0.25 oz bottle beside the original.
- Multipacks: 6 or 12 bottles in one listing for salons that refill base and top every week.
Brisa sculpting gel and Plexigel builders
For structure rather than colour, CND offers two builder formats. Brisa is a sculpting gel in a 1.5 oz jar, applied with a brush and cured under a UV or LED lamp, for natural nail overlays, tip extensions and full sculpts on a form. Brisa shades in stock right now are Clear, Pure White Opaque and Warm Pink Semi Sheer; the other Brisa listings are worth checking before a restock order.
Plexigel is CND's brush-in-bottle builder line in 0.5 oz bottles, with a Bonder, a clear Builder, tinted Color Builders and a Protector Top Coat. It suits short overlays and natural-look strengthening where a jar and brush feel slow. Stock on Plexigel moves quickly, so read each listing.
CND's directions for the two builders differ in a useful way. Brisa goes on in thin layers over CND's bonding step, each layer cured, then the shape is refined with a 180-grit file once fully cured; finish with Shellac colour and top for a colour overlay, or buff and add Solar Oil for a natural look. Plexigel starts with the Plexigel Bonder, then the builder is brushed from cuticle to free edge, building structure at the apex; a second layer adds strength or length, and the Protector Top Coat seals the shine. Both need a UV or LED lamp for every layer. If you want to compare formats across brands, see more jar builder gels to compare and brush-in-bottle builders from other brands.
CND acrylic: Perfect Color powder and Retention liquid
CND's acrylic powders come in two families, both on the CND Perfect Color acrylic jars page. Perfect Color Powder covers skin-tone shades in 3.7 oz jars, while Perfect Color Sculpt Powder covers Clear, pink sheers and opaque whites in 3.7 oz jars, with some shades also in 32 oz salon sizes.
The powders are written to pair with CND Retention Sculpting Liquid, an EMA liquid sold in 4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz and 1 gallon sizes on one listing; stock differs by size, so check the size you need. Acrylic sets in the air, with no lamp. For liquids, primers and prep from other brands, see acrylic liquids and primers by brand, and to compare powders across every brand we carry, open the cross-brand acrylic powder page.

How a CND Shellac service runs
- Prep the cuticle: apply Cuticle Away, wait 30 to 45 seconds, push back with a metal pusher and rinse.
- Prep the plate: buff off the shine lightly, then clean and dehydrate the nail surface.
- Base: one thin layer of Shellac Base Coat, capping the free edge, cured under the lamp as the bottle directs.
- Colour: two thin coats of the Shellac shade, capping the edge and curing each coat.
- Top: Original Top Coat or Duraforce, capped and cured; wipe the surface after curing where the top coat's directions call for it.
- Finish: a drop of Solar Oil at the cuticle, and a mini bottle for the client to take home.
Thin coats are the habit that matters most: a heavy layer cures unevenly, which leads to chipping and peeling. Cure times are printed on each bottle and vary by lamp, so follow the label for the lamp you use. CND's own plug-in UV/LED lamp is part of our lamp line-up for Shellac and Brisa.
Removing Shellac and Brisa
Shellac is removed by soaking in acetone, not by drilling: once the colour softens, it lifts away with an orangewood stick or a pusher without scraping. Plexigel is listed by CND as a soak-off builder as well; for Brisa, follow the removal directions on the jar. Finish any removal with a drop of Solar Oil at the cuticle before the next set.
Choosing what to stock
- Clients ask for Shellac by name: stock a core wall of Shellac colours plus the Base Coat and one top coat, then add shades by season.
- You offer overlays and extensions: add Brisa Clear plus one opaque white or semi-sheer pink.
- You run an acrylic menu: pair Perfect Color Sculpt Powder with Retention Sculpting Liquid in the size that matches your volume.
- You sell retail: Solar Oil minis and the RescueRXx 40-pack sit well at the front desk.
- High-volume station: the 6 and 12-bottle base and top multipacks keep refills in one listing.
Buying CND at DTK
Every CND item is listed individually, with its price and live stock on the product page. Multipacks bundle several bottles of the same base or top into one listing for convenience; compare the per-bottle price with the single bottle before you choose. If a shade or size shows as out of stock, check back after the next restock rather than substituting a different formula mid-service.
