NuGenesis dip powder at DTK: what this page holds
This page is the NuGenesis colour wall. Every single-shade listing here is a 1.5 oz jar of NuGenesis dipping powder, and each one carries a short code printed in the title, such as NU 163 Blue Ribbon or NL 24 Dare We Say. Around the singles you will find the NuGenesis pink and white powders in three jar sizes, plus the boxed collections and full-line sets that bundle many jars together.
NuGenesis describes its powder as odor free, lightweight and flexible, air drying without a UV lamp, and made in the USA and Canada. The liquids that go with it (Prep, Base Gel, Activator, Finish Gel and Brush Softener) sit on their own page, linked further down, because they are sold in two bottle sizes and as kits. Use the filters beside the grid to narrow the wall by colour, availability or price.
Reading a NuGenesis code: the colour chart in one table
NuGenesis groups its shades into short code families. Knowing the prefix tells you which run a jar belongs to before you open the listing, and it is the quickest way to reorder a colour a client already wears.
| Code | Number range on DTK | What it is |
| NU | NU 001 to NU 220 | The main NuGenesis colour line and the largest run on this page, from glitters and neons to metallics. |
| NL | NL 01 to NL 30 | The Sparkle Collection, 30 glitter shades sold singly or as one boxed set. |
| NG | NG 601 to NG 618 | The Glitz shades; the Glitz Collection box covers NG 601 to NG 612. |
| NUDE | NUDE 01 to NUDE 12 | The NudeElle Collection: twelve nude and beige shades with first names such as Elle, Kate and Bella. |
| SS | SS 701 to SS 706 | A short six-shade run, from SS 701 Blue Eyed Girl to SS 706 Bamboo Green. |
| NU E | NU E 01 to NU E 06 | Another short six-shade run, including Poppy, Evening Sky and Winter Rose. |
The Metallics Collection is not a separate prefix: it is a set of 45 NU numbers with a metallic finish, for example NU 004 Gold Dust, NU 006 Lucky Penny, NU 034 Pacific Blue and NU 111 Harvest Moon. Those jars are also sold one by one under their NU code.
Choosing NuGenesis colours by family
Each jar is tagged with one or more colour families, which is how the colour filter works. A quick guide to the biggest groups, naming shades that were in stock when this page was written:
- Glitter: the largest family on the page, about a hundred shades, led by the whole Sparkle run (NL 07 First Kiss, NL 11 I Love Gold, NL 22 I'll be Waiting) and the Glitz shades such as NG 602 Disco Fever and NG 611 Sea Foam.
- Pinks: from NU 028 Spring Love and NL 12 Pink Fiesta to the brighter NG 606 Drama Queen and NG 616 Dream Girl.
- Purples: NU 086 Deep Purple, NU 164 Grapes of Wrath, NU 104 Wild Orchid and NU 137 Violet Me Be.
- Nudes and beiges: the NudeElle run (NUDE 02 Elle, NUDE 06 Kate, NUDE 08 Bella) plus NU 036 Birthday Suit and NU 154 I'm the Boss.
- Reds: NU 021 Kiss Me Red, NU 114 Stella Red, NU 157 She Said Yes and the glitter NL 03 Candy Apple.
- Blues and greens: NU 163 Blue Ribbon, NU 160 Blue Jeans, NU 065 Blue Bayou, NU 035 Emerald Envy and NU 079 Green With Envy.
- Neutrals for every set: greys such as NU 017 Seal Gray and NU 055 Space Cadet, browns such as NU 100 Destiny, and whites such as NU 209 White Lily and NG 603 Milky Way.
Screens show glitter and metallic jars differently from the finished nail, so compare a swatch against the client's skin before committing to a full set.
NuGenesis pink and white powders
For French dip and natural-looking sets, NuGenesis sells a separate pink and white range. Each shade comes in three jar sizes on its own listing: 1.5 oz for a single station, 3.5 oz for regular use, and 16 oz for salons that run French dip every day. The range includes Natural Base, Neutral Lite, Pink I, Pink II and Pink III, Crystal Pink, Pink Glitter, American White, French White, French Glitter and Crystal Clear, plus a 16 oz jar of NUD140 Now That's Black.
All of them are gathered in NuGenesis pink and white powder, which is the easier place to compare sizes side by side. NuGenesis also makes a French Dip Molding tool and a French dip powder holder for crisp smile lines; both are listed with the NuGenesis tools.
The NuGenesis liquid system
NuGenesis dip powder is applied with the brand's own liquids. Each one has a single job, and the four-bottle Dip Kit lists them in the order you use them: Prep, Base, Activator, Finish.
| Liquid | Role in the set | Sizes on DTK |
| Prep | Dehydrates the natural nail plate before the first layer. | 0.5 oz bottle, 2 oz refill, kit of 0.5 oz bottles |
| Base Gel | The bonding layer the powder sticks to, brushed on before dipping. | 0.5 oz bottle, 2 oz refill, 6-bottle kit |
| Activator | The sealing step that hardens the dipped powder. | 0.5 oz bottle, 2 oz refill, kit of 0.5 oz bottles |
| Finish Gel | The final shine layer over the finished powder. | 0.5 oz bottle, 2 oz refill, kit of 0.5 oz bottles |
| Brush Softener | Brings stiff, product-clogged brushes back to working softness. | 0.5 oz bottle |
The full set of liquids, kits and refills is in NuGenesis dipping essentials. Follow the directions printed on each bottle, because dry times and finishing steps are set by the label.
How a NuGenesis dip set goes
- Prepare the nail: push back and clean the cuticle, shape the free edge and remove the shine from the nail plate, then dust off.
- Prep: brush a thin layer of NuGenesis Prep over the nail plate and let it dry.
- Base and dip: brush on Base Gel, dip the nail into the colour jar, and tap off the loose powder.
- Build coverage: repeat base and dip until the colour is even across the nail.
- Activator: brush Activator over every dipped surface and let it set.
- Shape: file and buff the surface smooth, then dust off completely.
- Finish: seal with NuGenesis Finish Gel as its label directs.
Pro tip: when a liquid brush turns stiff from built-up product, soak it in NuGenesis Brush Softener for a few minutes, reshape the bristles and let it dry flat, instead of replacing the bottle.
Matching a dip shade with gel and lacquer
Many NU numbers also exist outside the dip jar. NuGenesis sells gel polish and matching nail lacquer duos under the same NU number, and 3-in-1 listings that put the dip powder, the gel and the lacquer of one shade together, for example NU 050 Candy Floss and NU 028 Spring Love. That makes it simple to give a client dip on the hands and polish on the toes in the same colour.
Browse the duos in NuGenesis gel and lacquer and the trios in NuGenesis 3-in-1 combos. Not every dip number has a gel twin, so check the number on the gel listing before promising a match.
Building a seasonal NuGenesis shelf
DTK tags NuGenesis shades by season, which helps when you rotate the front of your colour display. Shades tagged for fall that were in stock at the time of writing include NU 004 Gold Dust, NU 069 Purple Haze, NU 031 Starry Night, NU 079 Green With Envy, NU 123 Need a Tan and NU 016 London Calling. For the warm months, the summer tag covers brights such as NU 046 Mango Tango, NU 095 Sunflower, NU 005 Finding Nemo and NU 049 Mardi Gras.
A practical rotation keeps the nudes, a few reds and a white on the wall all year, then swaps a row of seasonal glitters and brights every few months. The NudeElle run and the pink and white powders cover the everyday requests, while the Sparkle and Glitz glitters suit party and holiday sets.
Collection boxes and full-line sets
For salons opening a NuGenesis station, the brand's boxed collections put a whole run in one order: the Sparkle Collection (NL 01 to NL 30), the NudeElle Collection (NUDE 01 to NUDE 12), the Glitz Collection (NG 601 to NG 612) and the Metallics Collection (45 NU metallic shades). Larger salon orders include a 100-colour box and One Line sets of the NU range.
Box availability changes, so check the listing before planning around one. When a box is not available, the shades inside it are still listed one by one on this page, so you can build the same run jar by jar. The boxed sets and line orders are gathered in NuGenesis salon bulk sets.
Removing NuGenesis dip and caring for the set
NuGenesis lists its powder as easy to soak off. File through the shiny finish layer first, soak the nails in acetone until the powder softens, then ease the layers away with a wooden stick rather than prying them off. Finish with cuticle oil.
- Cap liquids right away: NuGenesis asks for the Activator to be capped straight after use so it does not evaporate.
- Store bottles upright: keep the liquids upright in a cool, dry place, and keep Finish Gel out of direct sunlight.
- Look after the brushes: Brush Softener restores brushes that have stiffened with product, which keeps each coat thin and even.
NuGenesis and the other dip lines at DTK
Each dip brand numbers its shades its own way, so a NuGenesis NU code does not point to the same colour in another range. If you run several systems, these pages hold the other dip walls: SNS dip powder in 1 oz jars, OPI Powder Perfection colors, DND and DC dip jars and Kiara Sky dip colors. To compare every brand at once, open dip powder from all brands, and for the rest of the NuGenesis range see all NuGenesis products.
