Why DC is its own line
DC (Daisy Color) is the premium sister line inside the DND family. It is poured into gold bottles that hold 0.6 fl oz (18 mL), slightly more than the 0.5 fl oz classic DND bottle, and the formula is made for richer pigment and a glossier finish, so many shades cover in fewer coats. DC keeps its own shade numbers, separate from classic DND, which is why a DC number and a classic number that look alike are different colors.
This page holds the DC line on its own, sold by DND DC: single shades, gel and lacquer duos, 36-color chart sets, build-your-own gel kits, and the DC Base #800 and Top #900 that the line is built around. If you also want classic DND and DIVA shades next to DC on one grid, the DC and DND duo range shows them together.
How DC numbers are organized
Reading a DC number tells you which chart a shade comes from before you open the listing. The ranges below are taken from the listings on this store.
| Number range | What it is | Where to buy it |
| #001 to #180 and #254 to #289 | The core DC chart, creams plus a few shimmers and neons | This page, as gel only, duo or lacquer only |
| #290 to #326 | Guilty Pleasures chart (Part 9) | This page, single shades and the Part 9 sets |
| #181 to #217 | DC Platinum, gel only | DC Platinum shades |
| #218 to #253 | DC Mermaid, gel only | DC Mermaid shades |
| #2436 to #2471 | Sheer chart (Part 13) | This page, as gel and lacquer duos and the Part 13 sets |
| #2508 to #2543 | Free Spirit chart (Part 15) | This page, single shades, duos and the Part 15 sets |
The printed DND and DC swatch charts follow the same runs, so a client can point at a painted swatch and you can order by number.
Three ways to buy one DC shade
Most core and Free Spirit shades have a listing named "DND DC Gel Polish #number" with three options on it:
- Gel Polish Only: one 0.6 fl oz gel bottle, cured under an LED or UV lamp. Handy when the matching lacquer is already on your shelf.
- Gel Polish & Lacquer: the gel and its matching lacquer under one number, so a gel manicure and a lacquer pedicure come out the same color.
- Lacquer Only: the air-dry bottle by itself, for pedicures, quick polish changes or a client's take-home bottle.
The same shades also appear as separate "DND DC Gel + Lacquer Duo" listings, and the Sheer shades #2436 to #2471 are listed here as duos. Each option keeps its own stock count, so if the gel option of a number is sold out, the duo or the lacquer may still ship. For classic DND gel bottles by the shade, see single DND gel bottles, and for lacquer alone across the DC chart there is DC nail lacquer.
DC shades by color family
On the DC color chart, pinks are the largest family, followed by purples, nudes and browns. The examples below were in stock as gel polish when this page was written; stock moves daily, so check the listing.
| Family | Examples | Good for |
| Whites and milky tones | #056 White Chalk (creamy white), #161 White Fur (milky white), #295 Milky Way (off white with baby pink) | French tips, clean manicures, bridal |
| Nudes and mochas | #078 Rose Beige (light brown-nude), #311 Natural (dusty taupe mocha), #312 Freckle (brown mocha nude) | Everyday sets, short natural nails |
| Sheer pinks | #059 Sheer Pink, #151 Nude Pink, #165 Bare Pink (dusty beige pink) | Layering, ombre bases, nail art backgrounds |
| Brights and neons | #008 NY Islanders (neon orange), #063 Shocking Orange (neon coral-orange), #284 Hibiscus (true hot pink) | Summer menus, pedicures, accent nails |
| Purples and darks | #026 Crocus Lavender (soft pastel purple), #047 Smokey Yard (deep gray-toned purple), #060 Beet Root (blackish purple) | Fall and winter sets, moody looks |
| Blues and greens | #027 Pittsburgh Blue (royal blue toward navy), #032 Caribbean Island (teal green), #254 Forest Green | Statement nails, sports-team colors |
The Sheer chart, #2436 to #2471
The Sheer shades are gossamer, buildable tints: one thin coat reads as a wash of color, and further coats build toward semi-opaque or full coverage. That makes them the DC answer for "your nails but better" sets, milky French bases and soft ombre. #2460 Coconut Silk is a milky white-pink often used as a French base, and in-stock neighbours include #2461 Milky Pink, #2448 Have Mercy (sheer light rosy pink), #2458 Daiquiri (sheer warm peach) and #2470 Gloss Moon (sheer light purple). The full run is gathered in the DC Sheer chart page.
Because sheer coverage depends on how many coats you lay down, decide the look with the client first: one coat for a tint, two for a soft veil, three for a fuller milky finish. Keep every coat thin either way.
Free Spirit and Guilty Pleasures
The Free Spirit chart (#2508 to #2543) is the highest-numbered DC run on the store, built around soft pastels, peaches and a few neons. #2509 Gimmie' Butter is a creamy butter yellow, and other picks include #2513 Happy Go Lucky (pastel green), #2535 Surfs Up (blue) and #2541 Topless Tropics (neon pink). See every shade in the Free Spirit chart page.
Guilty Pleasures (#290 to #326) leans into milky nudes, mochas and muted tones: #293 Tres Leches (milky peach nude), #299 Dream World (milky nude mauve), #311 Natural and #322 Playground (turquoise green with gray). The run is collected in the Guilty Pleasures chart.
DC Platinum and DC Mermaid
Numbers #181 to #253 belong to two DC effect lines that are sold as gel only and kept on their own pages, not in this grid. Platinum (#181 to #217) is a set of shimmery, metallic shades with a high-gloss finish, made to look fully metallic in one coat. Mermaid (#218 to #253) is a sparkle gel with an iridescent, underwater-style shimmer. Both come in the same 0.6 fl oz DC bottle and work with DC Base #800 and Top #900. Stock varies by shade, so order from the listing on each page.
Picking DC colors for 2026
Trend notes for 2026 point to smoky amethyst and sage green as key tones, with steady demand for classic pastels and minimalist, clean nails. On the DC chart that translates to:
- Smoky purples: #047 Smokey Yard and other gray-toned purples from the core chart.
- Sage and soft greens: #2513 Happy Go Lucky and #2514 Eucalyptus from Free Spirit.
- Clean, milky nails: #2460 Coconut Silk and the Sheer chart.
- Butter yellow: #2509 Gimmie' Butter.
For the colder months, the DC autumn shade edit gathers the mochas, plums and smoky grays DTK tags for fall.
Applying DC gel
- Prep: push back the cuticle, take the shine off the nail plate with a light buff, then clean and dehydrate.
- Base: one thin layer of DC Base #800, cured 30 seconds under LED or 2 minutes under UV. DC needs this base for adhesion and wear, so do not skip it.
- Color: a thin coat, capped at the free edge, cured 30 to 60 seconds under LED or about 2 minutes under UV. Repeat for the second coat.
- Top: DC Top #900 No Cleanse, capped and cured fully. It leaves no sticky layer to wipe.
- Finish: cuticle oil, and the matching DC lacquer for the toes if the client booked a pedicure.
Both gels come in brush bottles and 16 oz refills on the Base #800 and Top #900 page, and DND, DC and DIVA base and top gels are cross-compatible. Cure under any LED or UV lamp from our salon gel lamps.
Chart parts and kits
When you want a whole run of numbers at once, DC parts bundle the chart for you:
- Duo parts: DC Part 1 to Part 5 and Part 8 bundle the gel and lacquer duos of one run; Part 1, for example, also offers the color swatch for that run as an option. When a shade in a part is sold out, the listing names it and it is left out of the box.
- Gel-only sets of 36: Part 9 Guilty Pleasures, Part 13 Sheer and Part 15 Free Spirit are also offered as 36 DC gel colors without the lacquers.
- Build Your Own kits: the DC Build Your Own 6 Gel Kit and 10 Gel Kit for a smaller starter shelf.
Wear, removal and HEMA
With prep, thin coats and the full DC system (Base #800, two color coats, Top #900), DC gel lasts up to 21 days. To remove it, file the top layer to break the seal, soak in 100% acetone for 10 to 15 minutes and lift the softened gel with an orangewood stick. DC lacquer on its own goes on in one or two coats and lasts about 5 to 7 days with a base and top coat.
DC is not sold as HEMA-free; its HEMA status is not confirmed across the line. Clients who need a HEMA-free option can use the DND HEMA and TPO Free line.
