Dip powder nail supplies, all brands in one grid

This page pulls together every dip powder color and every dip liquid that DTK lists, whatever the brand. The bulk of the grid is colored powder from four lines: SNS, OPI, LDS and Kiara Sky. Around those jars sit the liquids that make a dip manicure work, from SNS, OPI, LDS, Kiara Sky, NuGenesis, DND DC and Gelish, plus pink and white jars for French dip and refill sizes for busy stations.

A dip manicure is built from powder and a matched set of liquids. The powder gives the color; the liquids bond it to the nail, lock each layer in and seal the finish. Each brand designs its liquids around its own powder, so the most useful way to shop this page is brand by brand: pick the powder line, then pick up the liquids that carry the same name. Use the filters beside the grid to narrow by color, availability, size or product type.

Dip powder brands on this page

SNS (Signature Nail Systems)

SNS was founded in 1990 and is one of the original dip brands, which is why so many clients ask for it by name. It makes up the largest share of this grid, with more than 1,000 color listings. Some listings are single 1 oz jars; others carry a 1 oz and a 1.5 oz option on the same shade, covered on the page for SNS jars in two sizes. Pink and white powders come in 2 oz and 16 oz jars. SNS liquids are sold by name: E.A bond, Gelous Base, Gel Base, Sealer Dry, Gel Top and Brush Saver, in 0.5 oz bottles, 2 oz refills and kits, with SenShine versions of several steps.

OPI Powder Perfection

OPI's dip system is called Powder Perfection. OPI describes the powder as ultra-fine, lightweight but strong, with more than 200 shades, and most shades match an OPI GelColor and Nail Lacquer of the same name. Color jars hold 1.5 oz, a few pink and white shades come in 4.25 oz jars, and the 44 and 51 color assortments put dozens of shades in one order. The liquids follow numbered steps: Step 1 Base Coat, Step 2 Activator, Step 3 Top Coat and a Brush Cleaner, also sold as 3-step and 4-step bundles.

LDS dipping powder

LDS dipping powder is a separate line from the LDS Color Craze gels. Most LDS dip colors are listed with a 1 oz and a 1.5 oz option, and the clear powder works for both acrylic and dip. The LDS liquid set is numbered #1 to #5: #1 E.A Bond, #2 Base Coat, #3 Sealer Dry, #4 Top Coat and #5 Brush Saver, in 0.5 oz bottles with 2 oz refills for the base, sealer and top, plus kits that group the four working steps.

Kiara Sky dip

Kiara Sky is a Los Angeles brand whose powder lines are made in the USA. Its dip colors come in 1 oz jars, with pink and white in 10 oz bulk jars (Light Pink and Pure White) and in 2 oz jars. The Kiara Sky liquids are Bond, Base, Seal Protect and Top, alongside a Nourish Oil.

More dip lines on their own pages

Three more dip lines sit outside this grid because Shopify files them under a different product type. NuGenesis dip colors come in 1.5 oz jars, and their liquids (Prep, Base Gel, Activator, Finish Gel and Brush Softener) do appear here. DND and DC dip jars cover classic DND in 1.5 oz and DC in 1.6 oz; the DND DC liquids #1 Bonder, #2 Base Gel, #3 Activator and #4 Top Gel are in this grid. LAVIS powder comes as single acrylic and dip jars and in matching sets, on the page for LAVIS dip, gel and lacquer trios.

The table lists what each brand names its steps; the order is close across brands, but the bottles are not interchangeable labels. Keep one brand's liquids together on the station and follow the steps printed on that system.

How to choose a dip brand

  • Clients ask for a brand by name: stock SNS first. It is the deepest color range here, and loyal SNS clients rarely switch.
  • Your salon already runs OPI gel and lacquer: Powder Perfection lets a client keep the same OPI shade name across dip, gel and lacquer.
  • You want one numbered liquid set that is easy to train on: the LDS #1 to #5 bottles tell a new tech exactly what comes next.
  • You need pink and white in bulk: compare the SNS 16 oz jars and the Kiara Sky 10 oz jars with the smaller 2 oz and 4.25 oz options.
  • You are building a first dip station: start with one brand's liquid kit and a dozen colors, then grow the wall from the shades clients actually book.

Dip liquids, step by step

Every system on this page follows the same basic idea: something to make the nail ready, a base that holds the powder, a hardening liquid and a top that seals and shines. The names and numbers change by brand, so treat this as the order, not the recipe:

  1. Prep the nail: push back and clean the cuticle area, remove the shine from the nail plate and dust it off.
  2. Bond or prep liquid: a thin coat of the brand's bond step (SNS and LDS call it E.A Bond, DND DC calls it Bonder, NuGenesis calls it Prep).
  3. Base and powder: brush on base, dip the nail into the powder at an angle, tap off the excess, and repeat until the color is even.
  4. Harden: apply the activator or sealer step (Activator for OPI, NuGenesis and DND DC, Sealer Dry for SNS and LDS, Seal Protect for Kiara Sky) and let it air-dry.
  5. Shape: file and buff the surface smooth, then apply the hardening step again if the system calls for it.
  6. Top: finish with the brand's top coat for shine.

Pro tip: keep base layers thin and even. A thin base stops the liquid pooling at the cuticle and sidewalls, and a brush saver, brush cleaner or brush softener from the same system keeps the base brush soft between clients.

Pink and white dip powder

Pink and white powders are what a French dip is built from: a pink or natural shade over the nail bed and a white for the free edge. On this page they come from SNS (2 oz and 16 oz), OPI (4.25 oz in selected shades) and Kiara Sky (10 oz and 2 oz). SNS pairs its pink, white and clear powders with Gel Base rather than Gelous Base. For a side-by-side of every brand's pink and white jars, use the pink and white dip powder page.

Dip powder or acrylic

Dip suits short natural nails where the client wants strength and color without a lamp: the powder is set with liquids rather than cured. When a client wants length or sculpted extensions, techs reach for acrylic instead, which uses an EMA monomer and a brush (sizes 10 to 20 are common) to build the shape. Several jars here are labelled acrylic and dip, but the methods are different services. For powders used with monomer, see acrylic and dip powder across brands.

Wear, removal and care

  • Wear: SNS lists up to three weeks or more, and OPI lists three weeks or more for Powder Perfection, with correct prep and the full liquid system.
  • Removal: file off the top shine, then soak in acetone or use acetone wraps for about 10 to 15 minutes and lift the softened powder gently. Never peel or pry dip off the nail. The dip removal tools page groups the files, buffers and wipes for this step.
  • Storage: cap the activator and sealer bottles straight after use and keep liquids upright in a cool, dry place.

Stocking a salon dip wall

Buy color by the shades your clients book, not by the full chart. Many listings carry two jar sizes, and each size has its own stock, so check the option you need before you add it to the cart. For liquids, 2 oz refills keep a busy station running between 0.5 oz bottle orders, and the dip starter kits page groups the liquid sets and powder-plus-liquid combos for a first station. When you reorder liquids, stay with the same brand as the powder on the wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which dip powder brands does DTK carry?+

The colored powder on this page comes from SNS, OPI Powder Perfection, LDS and Kiara Sky, and the liquids come from those brands plus NuGenesis, DND DC and Gelish. NuGenesis and DND or DC powder jars are listed on their own pages, and LAVIS powder is sold as single acrylic and dip jars and in matching dip, gel and lacquer trios. Jar sizes differ by brand: SNS 1 oz with many shades also in 1.5 oz, OPI 1.5 oz, LDS 1 oz or 1.5 oz, and Kiara Sky 1 oz.

Can I use one brand's dip liquids with another brand's powder?+

Each brand designs its liquids around its own powder and prints its own steps, so we recommend keeping the powder and liquids from the same system. The order of steps is similar across brands, but the bottles are not labelled to be swapped. Reorder liquids from the same brand as the powder on your wall. Within SNS, note that Gelous Base is meant for color powder and Gel Base for pink, white and clear powder.

Do dip powder nails need a UV or LED lamp?+

No. In a dip manicure the powder is set with liquids rather than cured: the activator or sealer step hardens the layers and air-dries. SNS and OPI both describe their dip systems as working without a UV or LED lamp. Follow the label of the system you use for the top coat step.

How long does a dip manicure last?+

SNS lists up to three weeks or more, and OPI lists three weeks or more for Powder Perfection. Wear depends on careful prep, thin and even base layers, and using the full liquid system of the same brand. A thin base keeps the liquid from pooling at the cuticle and sidewalls, which helps the edges stay sealed.

How do I remove dip powder safely?+

File off the top shine first so the acetone can reach the powder. Then soak the nails in acetone, or wrap them with acetone-soaked pads, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Lift the softened powder gently with an orangewood stick and repeat the soak if needed. Never peel, pry or scrape dip off; give the acetone more time instead.
