DND gel polish and nail lacquer: what is on this page
DND (Daisy Nail Design) is a gel brand made in Southern California, and it is one of the most recognized gel polish brands in US salons. Almost every DND shade comes as a duo: two separate bottles that share one shade number. The white bottle is the gel polish, which cures under an LED or UV lamp. The coloured bottle is the matching nail lacquer, which air-dries with no lamp. One purchase covers a gel manicure and a lacquer pedicure in the same colour, and the client can take the lacquer home for touch-ups.
This page gathers the whole DND gel and lacquer family stocked at DTK. You will find single-shade duos from four lines (classic DND, DC, DIVA and the HEMA & TPO Free line), combos that pair a duo with its base and top gel, starter kits, part sets that cover a full run of shade numbers, and the base and top coats that hold the system together. Use the filters beside the grid to narrow by colour, availability, price or product type. The formula is cruelty-free and vegan, and DTK sells it as an authorized reseller.
The four DND lines, side by side
Classic DND Gel & Lacquer
The original line and the largest. DND lists more than 1,000 numbered shades in the classic range, and the duos we stock run from the 400s upward, from sheer nudes and French whites to deep reds, glitters and seasonal colours. Each bottle holds 0.5 fl oz (15 mL). It pairs with DND Base Gel #500 and DND Top Gel #600 No Cleanse. Shades such as #430 Ferrari Red and #868 Gossip Girl belong to this line.
DC is the premium sister line. It comes in gold bottles that hold 0.6 fl oz (18 mL), a little more than classic DND, and it is formulated for richer pigment and a glossier finish, so many shades cover in fewer coats. DC uses its own numbering, separate from classic DND, so the same number in both lines is not the same colour. DC needs a base coat for adhesion and wear: use DC Base #800 and finish with DC Top #900 No Cleanse.
DIVA is DND's most trend-led line, with 288 gel and lacquer duos numbered #001 to #288 and grouped into themed collections such as Coquette, Frosted Chai and Happy Trails. Bottles hold 0.5 fl oz (15 mL). DIVA has its own Base #100 and Top #300 No Cleanse, and DC #800 and #900 work on it too. DIVA combos ship with four bottles: base, top, the gel colour and its matching lacquer.
A dedicated DND line made without HEMA and without TPO, for clients who react to HEMA or salons moving their menu away from it. It is still a gel and lacquer duo, 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) per bottle, with its own number range. DND lists it as non-shrinking and rated for up to 21 days of chip-free wear with proper prep, and it works with any DND, DC or DIVA base and top gel. Only this line carries the HEMA-free claim; the standard DND gel contains HEMA.
How to choose the right DND line
- Clients ask for DND by number: start with classic DND. It has the widest shade range and the numbers clients already know from other salons.
- You want more pigment and shine per coat: pick DC, and keep DC Base #800 on the station, because DC should never go on without a base.
- Your clients follow seasonal palettes: DIVA releases themed groups of shades, which makes it easy to build a seasonal display.
- A client has reacted to HEMA: move her to the DND HEMA & TPO Free line. If you want a HEMA-free system from base to top across a whole gel range, look at A'DOR HEMA-Free gel color as well.
- You are new to gel or set up a home studio: a starter kit (five duos plus base and top gel) or a single combo gives you a working system in one order.
- You are filling a salon shade wall: part sets cover a run of consecutive numbers, and the One Line sets put hundreds of classic duos in one order.
DND, DC, DIVA and HEMA & TPO Free compared
| Line | Bottle size | Numbering | Base and top | Best for |
| Classic DND | 0.5 fl oz (15 mL), white gel bottle + coloured lacquer bottle | 400s upward, more than 1,000 shades | Base #500, Top #600 No Cleanse | Widest range, shades clients request by number |
| DC | 0.6 fl oz (18 mL), gold bottles | Its own numbering, separate from classic DND | Base #800 (required), Top #900 No Cleanse | Richer pigment and a glossier finish |
| DIVA | 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) | #001 to #288 | Base #100, Top #300 No Cleanse, or DC #800 and #900 | Themed seasonal palettes |
| HEMA & TPO Free | 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) | Its own number range | Any DND, DC or DIVA base and top gel | Clients sensitive to HEMA |
All DND, DC and DIVA base and top gels are cross-compatible, and every top coat we sell for these lines is a no-cleanse (no-wipe) formula. Matching the base and top to the line still gives the most predictable wear.
How to apply DND gel polish
- Prep: push back the cuticle, remove the shine from the nail plate with a light buff, then clean and dehydrate the surface.
- Base: apply one thin layer of the base gel for the line (Base #500 for classic DND, Base #800 for DC, Base #100 for DIVA) and cure it, 30 seconds under LED or 2 minutes under UV.
- Colour: apply a thin first coat, cap the free edge and cure it, 30 to 60 seconds under LED or about 2 minutes under UV. Repeat with a second thin coat.
- Top: seal with the no-cleanse top gel, cap the free edge again and cure fully. There is no sticky layer to wipe off afterwards.
- Finish: a drop of cuticle oil, then send the client home with the matching lacquer bottle if she wants it for her toes.
Pro tip: thin coats matter more than lamp time. A thick layer cures unevenly, which leads to chipping and peeling, so two thin coats always beat one heavy one.
Using the lacquer on its own: apply a thin base coat, one or two coats of DND Nail Lacquer, then a top coat. Each coat dries in about 2 to 3 minutes, and a lacquer manicure with base and top typically lasts 5 to 7 days. It comes off with regular nail polish remover.
Wear, removal and care
- Wear: with correct prep, thin coats and the full base, colour and top system, DND gel lasts up to three weeks.
- Removal: file the top layer to break the seal, soak in 100% acetone for about 10 to 15 minutes, then lift the softened gel with an orangewood stick. Do not scrape hard; let the acetone do the work.
- Aftercare: ask clients to oil and hydrate their cuticles daily after the service.
- Edges: capping the free edge on every layer, base, colour and top, is the simplest habit that protects wear.
Storage: keep gel bottles capped and away from the lamp and from sunny windows, because stray UV can thicken gel in the bottle neck. Wipe the neck before closing so the cap does not stick.
How DND is sold at DTK
Each shade is listed as a single duo, so you can reorder one number at a time and keep your chart complete. Around that core there are several ways to buy:
- Single duos in each of the four lines, one gel polish plus its matching lacquer.
- Gel-only and lacquer-only bottles for some shades, in DND gel colors and DND nail lacquer.
- Combos that add the base and top gel to one duo, listed in DND duo starter combos. DND combos use Base #500 and Top #600, DC combos use #800 and #900, and DIVA combos use #100 and #300.
- Starter kits with five DND duos plus base and top gel, a quick way to open a gel menu.
- Part sets that bundle a run of consecutive shade numbers from one colour chart, gathered in DND full collection sets. When a shade in a part is sold out, the listing names it, and it is left out of the box.
- One Line sets of several hundred classic DND duos for salons that want the bulk of the chart in a single order.
- Base and top coats in standard bottles and refill sizes, in DND base and top gel.
Prices are shown on each listing and update with stock, so check the product page for the current figure. To match colours before ordering a large run, the DND and DC colour charts show each range on swatches.
Shop DND by colour and season
Clients usually start from a colour, not a number. Pinks and nudes are the biggest group in the classic range, from sheer ballet pinks for French work to rosy mediums; browse them in DND pink colors. Reds run from true crimson to cherry-brown, in DND red colors. For the cold months, DND winter duos and the DND holiday reds collect the deeper reds, wines and berries for the holiday season.
