Cure it for 60 seconds in a nail lamp (UV or LED). Press the foil into place and pull off the backing. Finish with the top coat and enjoy the elegant upgrade.

Why should you peel off the stencil before drying the polish? Wouldn’t it make more sense to leave the stencil in place to avoid mishaps? You could try that method, but you run the risk of damaging the design if you remove the stencil after curing the polish. The polish will have set and may be attached to the stencil in such a way that the edges of the design end up ragged.

Brush it on where you want to place the foil and cure it. It will feel tacky. Now, transfer the foil from the backing to the nail. Press the design side down, taking the time to gently rub the backing to transfer it into place. Carefully lift off the backing and brush on the top coat and cure.

The most important thing to remember when using self-adhesive nail stickers is to cleanse the surface first with alcohol. Remove the tackiness and finger oil to make sure the stickers adhere properly. Use a lint-free wipe to avoid fuzzies.
Second, make sure the edges of the sticker are laying flat. Go over the surface with tweezers or a cuticle stick to remove creases and smooth corners that want to lift.
Third, two coats of top coat should be enough to make the sticker blend in so that you can’t see the edges. However, some artists use a thin coat of builder gel in a bottle to encapsulate the sticker and reinforce the durability of the design. Finish with a top coat as usual.
Finally, if you’re working with lacquer instead of gel polish, artists report better results using top coat, then the sticker, then two more coats of top coat. Some recommend gel effect finishes over quick-dry products.
