How LAVIS names a cat eye bottle

A LAVIS cat eye title carries three pieces of information. Read them in this order before you add anything to a cart:

The collection code: CE1 to CE18 for the 12-shade palettes, C09 to C16 for the 24-shade cat eye sets, AC for Amber Crystal.
The shade number: the two digits after the code, 01 to 12 for a CE palette and 01 to 24 for a C set.
The version: some CE numbers exist twice. Ver2 marks the current palette and Ver1 the earlier one, and the two hold different colours under the same number. Earlier palettes still listed as sets include CE6 Mysterious Land, CE10 Cotton Candy, CE13 Luminous Sky and CE14 Super Nova.

Applying LAVIS cat eye, step by step

Step	What to do	Why it matters
1. Base	Prep and cure your base. For the strongest band, add a dark base such as LAVIS Super Black.	A dark background makes the light band stand out.
2. First coat	One thin coat of cat eye gel, cured for 30 seconds.	Builds colour depth under the effect.
3. Second coat	A second thin coat, left uncured.	The particles can only move while the gel is wet.
4. Magnet	Hold the magnet at 45 degrees, close to the nail, for 5 to 10 seconds.	This is when the line, halo or ray forms.
5. Cure	A full cure of 60 seconds.	Locks the light where you placed it.
6. Top	Diamond Top, then cure.	Protects the effect and helps it last.

Three faults cover most problems. A blurred band means the magnet sat too far away, so bring it within 1 to 2 mm. A band that refuses to move means the coat was too thick, so lay a thinner one. No band at all means the coat was cured before the magnet went in.

Choosing the right magnet

LAVIS cat eye cannot form a line without a magnet, so a station needs at least one. Magnets come as sticks, double-head tools and shaped pieces named for the pattern they make, such as hearts, flowers, stripes and 3D circles; you will find magnets for lines, halos and hearts in their own collection, alongside magnets and other design tools such as finger rests and stampers. CE16 Double Vision forms two lines at once, so plan the magnet placement for a double band when you use it.
