Brush material matters. Kolinsky sable is the gold standard for acrylic work — holds a sharper point under pressure, picks up monomer-powder bead cleanly, releases product evenly across the nail bed. Premium price but lasts 6–12 months with proper cleaning. Synthetic brushes are easier to clean (acetone-safe), work well with gel polish and standard nail art, and are the practical choice for high-turnover home studios. Fine-tip art brushes (synthetic or mixed-bristle) handle detail work, line painting, flower and leaf patterns.

Brush care: clean immediately after each use with monomer (for sable) or brush cleaner (for synthetic), reshape to original tip while still wet, store bristles-up or horizontal.
